Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Men’s Soccer Beats Life Pacific, 5-1

RIVERSIDE - La Sierra men's soccer earned a 5-1 win over the Life Pacific Warriors for their first home conference game of the season.

Sean Palena continues to be a star for the Golden Eagles scoring 7 goals in the last three games. Palena's goal in the 15th minute of play put the Golden Eagles on the board first. Elias Quintanar Macias offered the assist. Quintanar Macias then went on to score a goal of his own to put the Golden Eagles up 2-0. The goal came in the 28th minute of play and was assisted by Christopher Aceves.

Up 2-0 in the second half, the Warriors were quick to put in a goal of their own two minutes into game play. With the lead down to one, La Sierra wanted more. Newcomer Vinicius Goncalves had a banger of his own with the assist from newcomer Jonathan Arriaga. Putting the lead at two again, the Golden Eagles had 29 minutes left to play.

La Sierra was not done yet. Jose Alcala and Christopher Remily added insult to injury with goals in the last 15 minutes of play. Alcala scored his first goal of the season and Remily added his second goal of the season.

Damian Romero, Carlos Leon, Rodrick Promis, Ulises Morales, and Landon Mead also had great attempts on goal, but the Warriors defense and goalkeeper managed to knock the shots down.

Jose Alcala, Alberto Perez, and Aceves continued their control of the back line holding LPU to only one goal.

Freshman Abraham Perez held strong in goal with his impressive rookie season run. With only one goal against an incredible LPU shot, Perez added an additional save to his stat line.

The fast-paced start held the level of competition throughout the game. La Sierra controlled the game throughout and it paid off with a win in the end.

Men's soccer is next set to face The Master's University at home on Thursday, September 25th at 7:30 p.m.
