RIVERSIDE - Sonia Randall celebrates her senior night after two years at La Sierra. The forward also played two seasons prior to becoming a Golden Eagle.
In her rookie season, she scored an incredible 504 points, 381 rebounds, 23 assists, 62 steals, and 26 blocks. In her sophomore year, she totaled 474 points, 297 rebounds, 23 assists, 76 steals, and 26 blocks. In her first season as a Golden Eagle, she scored 176 points with 142 rebounds, 22 assists, 28 steals, and 8 blocks. This season, she totals 193 points, 192 rebounds, 18 assists, 29 steals, and 6 blocks. In her impressive basketball career, she totaled 1,347 points, 1,012 rebounds, 86 assists, 195 steals, and 66 blocks.
Sonia has been awarded Most Improved Player by the Women's Basketball team. This season Sonia has been awarded Defensive Player of the Week by the Cal Pac, and is a two time Golden Eagle of the Week. She also was Golden Eagle of the Week last season. This season Randall surpassed 1,000 career rebounds, and last season she surpassed 1,000 career points.
Randall is currently studying Exercise Science. In the future, she plans on playing basketball overseas. She also plans on becoming a personal trainer and coach.
Sonia describes her time at La Sierra; “My time at La sierra has been great. I have met some great people at this school. I am happy to have gotten to play for this team with such great coaching staff. I will for sure miss playing and being a part of the team.”

Question: What was your favorite sports memory at La Sierra?
Sonia Randall: My favorite sports memory at La Sierra would have to be when I scored 28 points against Westcliff University and we went into overtime twice and beat them.
Q: How long have you been playing this sport and how did you get into playing this sport?
SR: I have been playing this sport since i was 5 years old, I got into playing basketball because of my older cousin, I always saw him playing basketball as a kid and ended up one day playing him as a kid 1 on one and I was always competitive so I started playing at school with all the boys and realized i was good and better than most boys I played with so that's when I knew that it was my passion because I started practicing everyday and playing against all the boys all the time at school.
Q: Who is your biggest influence?
SR: My biggest influence in my life is my dad.
Q: Do you have any superstitions or pre-game rituals?
SR:
I always make sure to pray before a game.
Q: What is your perfect pre-game meal?
SR: Turkey bacon sandwich
